Dear Faithful,

Christ is Baptized! In the Jordan!

We are entering into a new part of the Church year marked by the words: “Repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”

According to St. Ignatius Brianchaninov, “We, mankind, have been presented with one work in the matter of our salvation: the work of accepting salvation, given to us by God free and complete—[i.e.] the work of repentance. The Heavenly Kingdom and the Heavenly King are ineffably close to us—incomparably closer than we imagine.”

There is no minimum threshold of repentance we must exceed for it to be real or to “count.” God receives even the smallest turning of the heart and accepts our humblest effort to do His holy will. An ounce of repentance brings us to the doorstep of the Kingdom.

Attached is the bulletin, which includes all of the upcoming events and announcements. Next Sunday is Potluck coffee hour. We will also have Sunday School and "Know Your Faith" class on "The Experience of Death."

Wishing you good strength in the coming days!

Your servant in Christ,

Fr Gregory

Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

St. Lawrence County is the largest county, by area, in our state.

What an incredible opportunity to build the Orthodox Church here in the North Country.

We are not here to cater to a certain demographic or cultural group.

We are here to bring Christ to everyone.
